Elementally Yours - The Elemental Talent tree
Current as of Patch 3.3

Tier 1

Convection: X/5 talent points Reduces the mana cost of your Shock, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lava Burst, and Wind Shear spells by 2/4/6/8/10%
Convection is a very good talent for any Shamans that are trying to get into the Elemental Tree further. Reducing the mana cost of spells allows you more resources for your other abilities, and for the Elemental Shaman, it greatly reduces the mana cost of all your main rotation spells.

Concussion: X/5 talent points Increases the damage done by your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Thunderstorm, Lava Burst, and Shock spells by 1/2/3/4/5%
This talent is valuable to Elemental shamans as a big boost to all their damage, but slightly less valuable to other shamans. It's still usable, but any other spec shaman would benefit more from Convection.

Tier 2

Call of Flame: X/3 talent points Increases the damage done by your Fire totems and Fire Nova by 5/10/15%, and damage done by your Lava Burst spell by 2/4/6%
Call of Flame is more valuable than it has been in previous patches. It's a small boost to Lava Burst, which is one of the Elemental Shaman's biggest damage spells. The Fire nova and Fire totem boosts are nice, but largely ignorable. Enhancement and Restoration Shamans should give this a pass, and while useful, Elemental Shamans are able to sacrifice this talent for a much more valuable one, should they need to.

Elemental Warding: X/3 talent points Reduces all damage taken by 2/4/6%
Invaluable for PvP, and useful for PvE. Generally, no matter what you plan to do, you will eventually take some form of damage. Reducing it by 6% is a big reduction for a lot of things, and all specs of Shaman can benefit from this talent. However, it offers little in the way of Damage, so it is passable for Enhancement or Elemental Shamans looking to boost their damage more.

Elemental Devastation: X/3 talent points Your non-periodic offensive spell crits will increase your chance to get a critical strike with melee attacks by 3/6/9% for 10 seconds.

Useless to Elemental and Restoration Shamans, but Enhancement Shamans will benefit greatly from this, especially when combined with Maelstrom Weapon's effect. if you're enhancement, this talent will give you a nice crit boost. Otherwise, pass it.

Tier 3

Reverberation: X/5 talent points Reduces the cooldown of your Shock spells and Wind Shear by 0.2/0.4/0.6/0.8/1.0 Seconds
This talent has a value in PvP, as it allows any Shaman to apply important shocks like Frost Shock faster, and interrupt more often with the Wind Shear cooldown lessened as well. in PvE, this talent is near useless however.

Elemental Focus: X/1 talent point - Required for (Call of Thunder) After landing a non-periodic critical strike with any Fire, Frost, or Nature damage spell, You will enter a Clearcasting state. The Clearcasting state reduces the mana cost of the next 2 damage or healing spells by 40%
This talent should always be taken, as it greatly reduces the mana costs of the Shaman's abilities. coupled with Lava burst's auto-crit mechanic, it almost garuntees a constant Clearcasting state.

Elemental Fury: X/5 talent points - Required for (Lightning Mastery) Increases the critical strike damage bonus of your searing and magma totems and your fire, frost, and nature spells by 20/40/60/80/100%
A solid talent for Enhancement Shamans, but a wonderful talent for Elementals. Elemental Shamans should always get this, as doubling your crit damage bonus when you can auto-crit with Lava burst ensures a boost in DPS, not even counting the boost you'll get from your other spells critting.

Tier 4

Improved Fire Nova: X/2 talent points Increases the damage done by your Fire Nova by 10/20% and reduces the cooldown by 2/4 seconds
This talent is flavor choice for all specs that go this deep. If you find yourself using Fire Nova often, this talent will help boost your DPS, but otherwise you can give it a pass and won't notice too much drop.

Eye of the Storm: X/3 talent points Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lava Burst and Hex spells by 23/46/70%.

An excellent talent for Elemental Shamans, as it allows them to cast their spells faster. while technically passable for PvE, in practice it is much more effecient to have this talent, as AoE spells and other attacks that will cause damage will still apply the pushback effect. in PvP there is no question, this talent is a must.

Tier 5

Elemental Reach: X/2 talent points Increases the range of your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Fire Nova, and Lava Burst spells by 3/6 yards, increases the radius of your Thunderstorm spell by 20%, and increases the range of your Flame Shock by 15 yards.
Again, while technically passable, this talent becomes very useful in PvE as being farther away from the enemy allows you to be farther away from danger, and to have more room for error in experimental tactics involving range or kiting. in PvP, this is again a no brainer, and a must have talent.

Call of Thunder: X/1talent point - Prerequisite (Elemental Focus) - Required for (Elemental Mastery) Increases the critical strike chance of your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Thunderstorm spells by an additional 5%
A static boost to your crit chance by 5% for one talent point. You must get this talent if you're this far in.

Unrelenting Storm: X/3 talent points Regenerate mana equal to 4/8/12% of your intellect every 5 seconds, even while casting.
This talent should always be taken when this far in. This is a talent put to remedy the Shaman's horrible mana storage ability, and it gives Elemental Shamans a great way to keep casting through long fights.

Tier 6

Elemental Precision: X/3 talent points Increases your chance to hit with Fire, Frost, and Nature spells by 1/2/3% and reduces the threat caused by Fire, Frost, and Nature spells by 10/20/30%
for PvP, a vastly less-useful talent, as the hit cap can be reached faster for players and threat is non-existant. for PvE, however, this talent is a must have, as it greatly reduces the hit cap needed and also allows more damage to be put out without over-stepping your tank's threat.

Lightning Mastery: X/5 talent points - Prerequisite (Elemental Fury) Reduces the cast time of your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and Lava Burst spells by 0.1/0.2/0.3/0.4/0.5 seconds
Take this talent if you're this far in, there's no question, as it allows you to faster cast your spells, leading to an increase in damage.

Tier 7

Elemental Mastery: X/1 talent point - SPELL: 3 minute cooldown, Instant cast Prerequisite (Call of Thunder) - Required for (Elemental Oath) When activated, your next Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning or Lava Burst spell becomes an instant cast spell. In addition, you gain 15% spell haste for 15 seconds. Elemental Mastery shares a cooldown with Nature's Swiftness.
A Must have spell. Utilizing this gives you one instant cast spell, while letting you have a dramatic speed boost as well. coupled with Heroism, and you get a very fast spam of lightning bolts and lava bursts.

Storm, Earth, and Fire: X/3 talent points Reduces the cooldown of your Chain Lightning spell by .75/1.5/2.5 seconds, your earthbind totem also has a 33/66/100% chance to root targets for 5 seconds when cast and the periodic damage done by your Flame Shock is increased by 20/40/60%
increases a shaman's DPS, and allows him to root enemies every 15 seconds for 5 seconds? There is no question. Get this.

Tier 8

Booming Echoes: X/2 talent points Reduces the cooldown of your Flame Shock and Frost Shock spells by an additional 1/2 seconds, and increases the direct damage done by your Flame Shock and Frost Shock spells by an additional 10/20%
Another flavorful talent for PvE. It'll slightly boost your DPS, but it doesn't really have much of a major effect. In PvP, it allows your Shocks to deal slightly more damage in addition to letting you Frost Shock more, this is valuable.

Elemental Oath: X/2 talent points - Prerequisite (Elemental Mastery) Your non-periodic spell critical strikes grant your party or raid members within 100 yards Elemental Oath, increasing spell critical strike chance by 3/5%. In addition, while clearcasting from Elemental Focus is active, you deal 5/10% more spell damage. lasts 15 seconds.
A must have spell, not only valuable to party members, but it affects you, and the spell damage boost when clearcasting is great.

Lightning Overload: X/3 talent points Gives you Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning spells a 11/22/33% chance to cast a second, similar spell on the same target at no additional cost that causes half damage and no threat.
This allows extra burst damage at no cost at all. there's no reason not to get this talent.

Tier 9

Astral Shift: X/3 talent points When stunned, feared or silenced you shift into the Astral Plane reducing all damage taken by 10/20/30% for the duration of the stun, fear or silence effect.
Great for PvP, ignore it for PvE otherwise. Not enough use in PvE situations to benefit from it.

Totem of Wrath: X/1 talent point - SPELL: Fire totem Summons a Totem of Wrath with 5 health at the feet of the caster. The totem increases the spell power by 280 for all party and raid members, and increases the critical strike chance of all attacks by 3% against all enemies within 40 yards. Lasts 5 minutes.
an improved Flametongue totem with crit on it as well? No reason not to have it this deep into the tree.

Lava Flows: X/3 talent points Increases the critical strike damage bonus of your Lava Burst spell by an additional 6/12/24%, and when your Flame Shock is dispelled your spell casting speed is increased by 30% for 6 seconds.
The dispell effect is good for PvP, and the crit bonus is good for PvE. as many of the talents in the end, a must have talent.

Tier 10

Shamanism: X/5 talent points Your Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning spells gain an additional 3/6/9/12/15% and your Lava Burst gains an additional 4/8/12/16/20%
of your bonus damage effects.

A static boost based off your Spellpower. the effect of this talent won't be noticable at first, but as your gear increases, so too will the effect of the talent. a very good boost, grab it.

Tier 11

Thunderstorm: X/1 talent point - SPELL: 45 second cooldown, instant You call down a bolt of lightning, energizing you and damaging nearby enemies within 10 yards. Restores 8% mana to you and deals 1522 to 1739 Nature damage to all nearby enemies, knocking them back 20 yards. This spell is usable while stunned.
This spell is a must for Elementals of all spectrums. Knockback for PvP, mana regen for PvE, AoE ability, and a usable when stunned as well.

A crumpled piece of paper lays strewn and forgotten on the floor. Written with excellent handwriting in deep black ink. It starts:
