Account security with authenticator

Guys, I ordered an authenticator today, no surprise. But on the blizz security site, there were FREE downloads for iphone/ ipods that would do the same thing without the little keyring thing. They also had a version for some of the Smart phones, ( blackberries, etc) also for free, so you may be able to upgrade security for free, check it out.

Can you get with me on this? I would like more information

I ordered you an authenticator Mack. I imagine with the recent spate of hacking they're swamped with orders though. Should be here anytime this year

The free download is available from blizzard, go to the main wow page and select the security link under acct admin. Since then I've talked with my son Solkata, he downloaded it on his iPod. The major restriction on the iPod key is that without a wireless internet connection, the iPod is useless. His concern if you were in a hardwired environment, then the free download on iPod is no good. They do offer a smartphone version as well, but it may need internet access which all folks don't sign up for. As such I'm going to order another keyring style for Solkata so he has a backup.
